Team Soul Terra
Sara Vlug – School Teacher & Kayak Guide, Saint John
Hailing from Dipper Harbour, NB, Sara is arguably one of the toughest adventure racers in Canada. With wins and top 5 team finishes at Eco-Challenge, Raid the North Extreme, Hidalgo, and Discovery Channel World Championships, Sara has been from Canada to Mexico to Switzerland and back again.
As an essential member of our team, Sara provides one of the keys to a top ten finish at Primal Quest 2008.
Peter Wieninger – Chemical Engineer, Calgary
Pete has worked in the oil and gas industry throughout western Canada for 20 years. He has been adventure racing for almost a decade and has the unique positive mental attitude and focus on teamwork that makes racers successful. Pete has competed at 2 previous Primal Quests and Eco-Challenges around the world and brings to the team vital experience. Pete and his wife Wendy have two wonderful children, Emma and Ryan.
Mark Campbell - Information Services Manager, LFAA Halifax
Mark has a fantastic deadpan sense of humour that keeps everyone’s spirits light on the course. One of the eastern imports on the team, Mark hails from Halifax, NS where he works for the Department of National Defense and lives with his wife, Amy. His is nicknamed “The Mule” for his workhorse mentality and brute strength and often shoulders much of the team’s mandatory gear. Mark is a 14-time Ironman finisher, former national level cyclist, and has many adventure races under his belt that include Eco-Challenge and Primal Quest.
Jan Trojanowski – Emergency Medicine Resident, London
An adventure racer and Ironman triathlete for over 6 years, and a former professional basketball player, this will rank as one of Jan’s biggest adventures to date. With an ability to time manage work and play, Jan is hoping that little of his medical training will be necessary at this year’s Primal Quest!
Jan is a sponsored Team Polar Athlete. ![]()
